I never imagined being nominated and being on par with these highly talented pastry chefs in the middle east. It was a very prestigious and high-level event with a panel of judges filtering through our bios, achievements last year, marks we contributed to our company, to the industry, to our colleagues, and especially to our customers. How we made a difference through our passion was highly valued.
Being the only woman in all chef categories is an honor. As we all know, men dominate our culinary industry and for a woman to excel in this kind of jungle is a “rock n roll!” Working in the kitchen is never an easy thing, but only those with “genuine passion” will survive and shine through. I always have high respect for chefs who are working hard for their passion. Hats off to all of you!
That evening… I didn’t expect to win, but I was wishing, not for me but for all women and all Asians because winning will give hope to others and inspire them to dream more. But one should remember that winning doesn’t come easy, it is all about hard work, focus, genuine passion, dedication, and respect for others.
Thank you Caterer Middle East!
